Cummins Power Generation encompasses three inter-related, yet diversified businesses that create or enhance value as a result of doing business with each other or having those relationships. These three businesses are; Commercial G Drive & Genset Business, Rental Power, Energy Solutions & Power Electronics Business, and Exports & Service Support Business all of which share common distribution systems, such as power generation and engines besides technology.

The Commercial G Drive & Genset Business markets G Drive engines and gensets in the 15 to 140 kVA (Low Horse Power) and 160 to 2000 kVA (High Horse Power) range. Rental Power, India’s market leader in rental power offers an unmatched range of 320 to 1250 kVA, flexibility of tenures, rental fleet of more than 100 gensets and an average age of less than four to five years with the highest levels of performance and efficiency. With Rental Power products and services, customers stand to enjoy unbeatable advantages such as guaranteed availability, immediate delivery, quality power, superior fuel consumption, and total service and single window support.

Energy Solutions designs power plants in 2 to 30 MW range using a series of prime movers and, CHP and low BTU applications. The business offers single-face, comprehensive, integrated support powerhouse solutions commencing right from design to implementation and operation, installation, project management, co-generation system, and operation and maintenance. The Business also provides technologically advanced energy management systems and ultra fast response power quality solutions for reducing harmonics to international standards with an aim to generate electricity efficiently through both diesel gensets as well as the Electricity Board supply. Power Electronics designs and manufactures microprocessor based fully integrated genset control systems, battery chargers, power transfer controls, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), and networking and remote monitoring systems. For any power application, ranging from simple standalone to complex paralleling, on or off grid, the full range of digital controls enhances the power system’s functionality and performance.

The Exports & Service Support Business manufactures and offers gensets in the range of 15 to 62.5 kVA, and G drives in the range of 30 to 125 kVA for markets spanning Africa, parts of Europe, West Asia and Asia. The product range offered, meets international specifications for open and enclosed gensets with lowest power to cost ratio and superior product features and performance.

Technology Leader

When it comes to complying with noise or emission level standards, Cummins leads by example. Cummins complies with all the government norms pertaining to noise and emission levels for all diesel gensets as prescribed by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). In keeping with the new norms, Cummins Power Generation has developed the new “SilentPowerTM” range of Acoustic Enclosures to meet the most stringent noise levels of 75 dBA @ 1 meter distance as specified by the Ministry of Environment and Forest. Due to the increase in fuel prices, as part of the company’s multi-fuel strategy, it has been working on producer gas/ biomass based initiatives and now has several installations under operations. Two such projects are - a 1 MW capacity Independent Power Plant installed at Arashi Hi-Tech Bio Power (P) Limited and a 1.5 MW capacity Captive Power Plant supplied to Beach Mineral Company Pvt. Ltd. These plants generate and supply electricity using gasification based power plant technology. Over the coming months, the company will focus on providing more such solutions.
